UK-based ideas that usually cost more than £100

FLY A HELICOPTER

I did this just a few years ago and it was a 40 minute experience. Taking over the controls and realising how sensitive they were to the slightest touch got the adrenalin pumping away! If you fancy it too, think about the location. I did mine by the coast as I love the sea and the hot sunny day brought me the most spectacular view but there're places all over the country and you can pay for much shorter lessons to bring down the price.

DRIVE A FERRARI

As a Formula 1 fan, driving a Ferrari around Silverstone was exhilirating...but one of the most terrifying things too! To be honest, this is the one thing I wouldn't repeat even though I'm a very confident driver in everyday life but mission accomplished. Tick!

DO A PARACHUTE JUMP

Would I jump? Would I actually let my body leave the comfort of the plane once up 1000s of feet high? I don't think it's until I'm there that I'd know if I'd do it but, as I've mentioned in the 'Less than £100 section', starting with indoor sky diving is a good place to start.

EXHIBIT YOUR PHOTOS/ ART PUBLICLY

How many of us have some great photos but they're just sitting there on our phones! Look out for events in your area or even ask at the library or a café if they offer such opportunities to share your pics with a much greater audience.

EAT AT A 3 MICHELIN-STARRED RESTAURANT

Do you have a chef that you admire? Even if it's not necessarily a 3 Michelin-starred restaurant, think about chefs you like and would love to eat at their restaurant. I really likTom Kerridge and James Martin.

GO AWAY FOR A SPA WEEKEND

I have to say that this isn't something I'd choose as I could never relax and the thought of a massage is a huge turn off! However, I know that some pamper time and a change of scenery can do many people the power of good. What about you? Does this sound appealing?

Example image

GO ON A HOT AIR BALLOON

I'd love to do this and I was going to a few years ago until the weather meant it needing to be postponed ...and then forgot that I had a outstanding voucher to use. They often offer rides at dusk and sunset if you're after particular photos.

GO ON A 'DINO SNORES' SLEEPOVER!

My other half did this years ago when he went to the Natural History Museum in London with a friend. They have separate events for adults and chldren but it involves sleeping over in the main hall, embracing a whole night of fun activities, etc. He loved it!

SLEEP IN A YURT

My days of sleeping in a traditional tent are long over! Whilst we did it briefly as a family, it conjures memories of Girl Guide camps and soggy sleeping bags. However, yurts look amazing and would be great one summer...though I still like the idea of an en suite!

GO TO A MUSIC FESTIVAL

I love the idea of soaking up the vibe at Reading Festival or Glastonbury as I watch the Glastonbury coverage every year on TV and it looks amazing. But what would reality be like?! Would I see see anything more than tiny dots on stages in the far distance? Would I cope with the muddy fields? Would I really cope with camp life if I dared to stay? Perhaps a day ticket is more doable.... or perhaps I'll stick with comfy sofa and a loo at home!
